Konstantina Zompola (b. 1997, Athens) is from Kalamata. She holds degrees in Fine Arts (BA, Ioannina) and Visual Arts & Landscape (MFA, Florina). Her painting practice unfolds as a process between the imaginary and the real, a way of perceiving and interpreting nature through the experience of walking and observing the landscape. Elements that capture her attention such as reeds, water, and trees are transformed into visual images, sometimes clear and sometimes ambiguous. Through this process, she creates an intermediate space, a condition that belongs neither entirely to reality nor entirely to imagination. The region of Prespes at the region of Florina, which served as the basis of her master studies, has played a decisive role in her work, shaping how she approaches the relationship between the natural environment, the traces of human presence, and the notion of transition to a place.
